Practice Nursing

Our Practice Nurse can provide a wide range of services and advice on many chronic conditions, health promotion and family planning.

You can book an appointment directly with our nurse for:

• Diet Advice
• Alcohol Cessation Advice
• Cardio Vascular & Heart Disease Prevention
• Family Planning Advice
• Cervical Screening (more information below)
• Asthma Clinic & Diabetic Clinic
• Blood Pressure and Blood Clinics

Our Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) may be involved in many aspects of your care such as blood testing, blood pressure measurement, height and weight readings, and electrocardiograms (ECGs).

Please note that blood testing will not be carried out without a request from the GP. If you feel you may need blood tests, please make an appointment with one of our GPs to discuss this.

Cervical screening is offered to all women, or those with a cervix, living in Scotland, between the ages of 25-64. Routine screening is every 5 years.

Some people who have changes that need to be monitored will be offered screening until they’re 70. These changes will have been detected by a previous screening appointment.

You will receive an invitation when you are due for screening. An appointment can be made with our Practice Nurse by phoning us on 01463 793400.
