We have made a slight change to our prescription form. The form is very similar to the existing form and self explanatory but you will need to delete any bookmarks you have to the existing form as it will no longer be available. Any details you have saved will no longer available

Repeat Prescriptions - "order in plenty of time for our Easter Closure which is Friday 14th April"

Your repeat prescription may be renewed without necessarily seeing the doctor.  This is known as a repeat prescription.

Once ordered from the surgery your prescription will be ready for collection from the Practice in 48 hours.

If you make a request on a Friday afternoon it will be not available until the Tuesday of the following week. If you order online after 6pm on a Friday or over a weekend, the prescription will be available on the Wednesday of the following week.

Once you have collected your prescription you can present this to a chemist of your choice to make up the medication for you.  This may take an additional 48 hours so we advise that you order your prescription in plenty of time and never run out of the medication that you need.

In addition to collecting your prescription from the Surgery, we also have collections from a number of chemists in the area and you can notify the reception staff if you wish your prescription to go direct to a local chemist.  Please remember that upon receipt of the prescription, the chemist may take a further 48 hours to make up your medication.  So you still need to order your prescription in plenty of time.

Over the course of a week, the Surgery receives requests from around 450 patients who require repeat medication.  This is why we ask for 48 hours to process your request.  We cannot process requests immediately so please do not request this of the reception staff.

We do not take requests for repeat medication over the telephone - this both ties up our telephone lines and also runs the risk of unnecessary error.  Please order your repeat prescription by completing the re-order form, on line via our webiste at the top of this page, or by completing a re-order form at the front desk.   If you are housebound and cannot order via the methods suggested please telephone reception making it clear you are housebound and ask for help.

Please help us to help you:

  • Think in advance
  • Order your medicines one week before you need them
  • Never run out of medicine
  • If there is a medicine listed on the request slip that you no longer take please tell the surgery
  • Only order the medicines that you use
  • Remember to order your medicines in plenty of time before your holidays and the Christmas and New Year periods

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will have their medications reviewed once a year by a GP.  This may involve you being asked to attend the surgery for review.
